Wakaki by Ippodo Tea is a light-bodied, refreshingly crisp matcha that delivers pointed astringency with a hint of sweetness—a clean, brisk character perfect for everyday enjoyment. Part of Ippodo's "Light" category, this approachable blend features a short aftertaste and grassy aroma reminiscent of washi (Japanese paper), making it an ideal entry point for newcomers or a go-to daily matcha for those who appreciate a lighter profile.

Founded in 1717 in the heart of Kyoto, Ippodo Tea has built an unparalleled reputation for aromatic, complex, and consistent teas through their meticulous blending process. Each matcha is a carefully crafted composition from rare harvests across different farms and batches, creating depth and year-round consistency. Wakaki's light, refreshing character makes it exceptionally versatile—enjoy it whisked straight with water for a crisp, clean experience, or blend it into matcha lattes where its astringency adds a delightful bite and crisp finish.
