Isuzu (五十鈴) – Bulk Edition is a principal-tier ceremonial-grade matcha from Marukyu Koyamaen, the acclaimed eighth-generation tea house in Uji, Kyoto. Named after the sacred Isuzu River at Ise Grand Shrine, this well-balanced matcha delivers a refreshing aroma, crisp vegetal brightness, mellow umami, and tart astringency—creating the perfect harmony with milk that makes it a cafe favorite for premium matcha lattes and daily traditional tea service.

Why Isuzu for Your Business:

  • Latte-Optimized Profile: Tart brightness and pleasant astringent mouthfeel pair harmoniously with milk and plant-based alternatives—the natural creaminess reminiscent of almond milk ensures consistently delicious lattes.
  • Ideal for: Matcha cafes prioritizing quality lattes, specialty coffee shops adding premium matcha drinks, tea ceremony practitioners, and discerning daily matcha drinkers seeking balanced, latte-friendly ceremonial grade at scale.
  • Bold & Decisive Character: More robust than Aoarashi with sharp amino acid notes and crisp vegetal flavors—stands up beautifully in milk-based drinks without getting lost.
  • Principal-Tier Quality: Second tier in Marukyu Koyamaen's ceremonial lineup—higher quality than entry-level grades while maintaining excellent value for high-volume operations.
  • Vibrant Visual Appeal: Brilliant green color that stays vibrant when mixed with milk, cream, or sweeteners—creates Instagram-worthy drinks that attract customers.
  • Versatile Performance: Excellent for traditional usucha, hot or iced matcha lattes, smoothies, and premium desserts—one matcha for all your menu needs.
  • Cost-Effective Volume: Bulk packaging delivers exceptional value—approximately 250 servings per 500g bag, 500 servings per 1kg bag for busy cafe operations.
  • Award-Winning Heritage: From Marukyu Koyamaen, established 1704, with over 30 Minister of Agriculture awards—trusted by tea schools, temples, and top cafes worldwide.

Step 1: Sift 4 g (0.14 oz) of matcha (3 heaping tea ladles or 2 level teaspoons.)

Step 2: Cool boiling water to 80°C (176°F) in teacup, then pour 30 ml (1 oz) into bowl, just covering matcha powder.
