Rindo (りんどう - "Gentian Flower") by Marukyu Koyamaen is a beloved premium culinary-grade matcha that delivers bold bright green vegetal notes with a harmonious balance of astringency and fragrance—a versatile all-rounder favored for its ceremonial-like quality at culinary pricing. This well-balanced matcha has become a favorite among matcha enthusiasts who appreciate less bitterness and nutty taste, making it perfect for daily lattes, baking, cold applications, and culinary creations where authentic matcha flavor truly matters.

Founded over 300 years ago during the Genroku era, Marukyu Koyamaen is recognized as one of Japan's top three matcha brands, maintaining strict standards for flavor and safety while overseeing the entire process from cultivation to production in-house. With 30 Minister of Agriculture awards and widespread recognition in professional kitchens worldwide, Marukyu Koyamaen ensures even their culinary-grade matcha maintains exceptional quality that rivals many ceremonial blends from other brands.

What makes Rindo exceptional is its smooth yet bold character with bright green vegetal notes and a perfectly balanced flavor profile—neither too bitter nor too sweet. Reviewers consistently praise it as having a light, sweet taste with little to no bitterness, enhanced by strong nutty notes and aroma. The deep bitterness that does exist works particularly well in matcha lattes for those who want a stronger, coffee-like drink that cuts through milk beautifully. Its vibrant jade-green color stays brilliant even in cold applications like tiramisu, ice cream, white chocolate ganache, and baked goods, making it an affordable yet premium choice for both commercial operations and home enthusiasts who demand quality in every creation.
